Dai Si Po Lo/Nangka

You may have eaten or seen this before but have you seen the process of managing it???

This is...HUGE..and HEAVY..i cant lift it with only one hand

Need a giant parang to cut it open like this..

And then cut it again like this..

Then remove the middle part which is now FULL of really really sticky substances

Trust me it's more sticky than melted cheese or glue..Traditionally some people use it to stick and trap mice (think about what else you can trap with it hehe - cockroaches, ants, flies, mosquitos wahaa imagination gone wild)

Then oil is used to wipe away all those sticky substances

You might also want to use oil to wash your hands because it's SO STICKY

And then you peel the edible part out one by one

Remove the whiter layer and remove the seed

Ps; seeds can be boiled and eaten or alternatively fried

And there you go!

(This is only half of the giant fruit)

edit - this is NOT a cempedak eventhough they are from the same family
